Holiday Ideas - Grand Canyon Camping

At 277 miles long and 15 km wide, the Grand Canyon is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular places on Earth. One of the seven wonders of nature, the incredible canyon rock formations, color variations and steep pillars combine to form an unforgettable holiday destination.

Grand Canyon camping and hiking adventures are great ways to see for yourself the splendor of the nation's most famous National Park. Hereare some of the best places in the Grand Canyon:

South Rim:



Mather Campground - Village is located near Grand Canyon, Mather Campground offers great camping near all services of the South Rim and hiking trails. No connections are available, but campers are welcome. Or try the nearby Trailer Village, an RV campground with full attacks. Campsites fill up quickly at both sites during the peak months are so reservationsstrongly recommended from April to November. Discounted off-season camping is available from December to March, without reservation, making this an affordable option for winter RV camping.



Desert View Campground - Surrounded by juniper Pinon and tranquility of the Grand Canyon Overlook campground is located 25 miles from Grand Canyon Village, but a few steps from wonderful views of the desert. NoConnections are available, but mobile homes and caravans are welcome.



Grand Canyon Railway RV Park - For a family-style adventure-old trying to stay in the historic Williams, Arizona in the park on the old Route 66 about 30 miles west of Flagstaff small western town, this is the home of the Grand Canyon Railway. Spend your Grand Canyon camping trip here and take the train 60 milesDrive north to Williams Grand Canyon Village on a classic steam engine.

North Rim


North Rim Campground - Grand Canyon for camping with fewer tourists, try the North Rim Campground. Open mid-May to mid-October, is an alternative out-of-the-art of the vibrant South Rim. Here, however, are limited services - no connections are available after mid-October, the field may be closed for the winter.



Kaibab Camper Village, located north of Grand Canyon North Rim, is the closest campground to the North Rim, which provides links to full mobile homes. Located on the banks of Jacob Lake, Kaibab Camper Village Grand Canyon campsite offers tranquility in the midst of old-growth pines. It 'also a short distance from other breathtaking natural scenery, including Zion and Bryce Canyon National Park.
