Magical Hotel - On the Edge of Wonder

A goal surreal, an unforgettable experience - we are what we found for the first time Canyon met the magical wonders of the Great.

Our first encounter was a few years ago, when a travel agent who helped my husband and I are planning a cross-country trip we booked into the El Tovar Hotel. I could not help but be a bit 'worried when I found our room, a vast room with dark wood floor - lacked a private bathroom. The journey of a secluded corridor did not have the internal atmosphere that I expected.

But later in the afternoon my disappointment turned to accommodation in the charm when my husband and I walked the path to the edge of the Grand Canyon. All around us a beautiful canyon scenery and shone to vibrate with light to create images that artists attract photographers from around the world.

In the evening we had dinner overlooking the magnificent view of the> Grand Canyon. Before our eyes, guided by the light and colors of the leaves danced in the rocky canyons. Heated incredible appetite color display thereof for his children back a few years ago with our own. They also have a series of paintings created from photographs and other day visits to the canyon.

Today, the El Tovar is emerging as a vigilant guardian on the edge of the Grand Canyon.Renovations a few years ago, a private bathroom, a space that was previously lacking them. Although the hotel has changed institutions, the wonders of the gorge did not. We thank the U.S. President signed the 1919 document that protected forests and the Grand Canyon of the game and created the National Park. The El Tovar, gorge when the Santa Fe Railroad reached, opened its doors in 1905.

The El Tovar, the hotel, inspired me to write began to remember HOTELS. Our visit to the "edge of Miracles" pushed my quest to find, photograph and write about wonderful old hotels everywhere. Articles in newspapers and magazines and the book the result of that search.

Each time a trip to the west to bring us near Flagstaff, Arizona, will return for another visit to the Grand Canyon. Each trip provides a "snapshot" and a new motivation to paint.
