Hiking Havasu Falls

Havasu Falls is absolutely incredibly beautiful waterfall in a remote Havasu Canyon in Arizona. A lot of effort to get there, but worth it.

Hiking to Havasu Falls begins at Hualapai Hilltop, about 100 miles from Seligman, the nearest town. Many people living in Flagstaff the night before or Seligman move in Havasu, then get up early and go to the mountaintop. The first 1.5 miles from Havasu Falls Hiking is a steep drop in the coilBottom of Hualapai Canyon. The rest of the walk is mostly flat 6.5 miles to the village, or 8.5 miles to the campground) meander Havasu washing (which ends in Havasu Creek. From there it is a 1.5 miles walk from village of Supai, as now walk through Havasu Canyon. The water in Havasu Creek are blue-green travertine. The name "Havasupai" means "people of the blue-green waters."

Havasu Falls Grand Canyon is a mile hike over 2 SupaiVillage, just outside the camp is Havasu. This is a beautiful double waterfall along Havasu Creek, fall into a crystal clear pool, ideal for swimming. There is a great beach in front of the waterfall. You can also reach the top of the waterfall and look down.

Havasu Falls, Arizona and the other near Supai Falls are located in the Havasupai Indian Reservation. The small village of Supai is home to about 600 Havasupai. You will need the permission of the HavasupaiWalk through the village. Admission is $ 20 per person. A room in the lodge is $ 75 (single) or $ 80 (double occupancy). The camp is $ 10 per person. If hiking in Havasu Falls is also physically demanding, you can drive (or have heavy packages brought into the horse), or take a helicopter (operated by Las Vegas Helicopters Papillion resident) in the village Supai.

The waterfalls along Havasu Creek are good all year. This is because, Havasu Creek flows from a source, andconstant flow throughout the year. However, if you walk Havasupai falls in the winter months, you could have a lot of rain and cold. And in the summer is very hot (100 F in the valley) and July-August is monsoon season (and this is an area for flash floods). March-April is often considered the best time of year should go, how to beat the heat and crowds in summer.

You can step Havasu tent camping or you can check in at the Supai Lodge. The lodge is beautiful and well maintained. Foodvillage had worked in the coffee can or even "convenience store" of Indians from their homes. Suffice to say, restaurants are minimal.
